Several exercises have been called "Roman Chair". The most common or ancient historical meaning of the movement is unclear. The weight of the body can provide significant resistance in all variations, and additional weight can be added to increase the difficulty. Mainly two actions are followed while exercising with a "Roman chair": inhaling and exhaling. Inhaling is leaning forward from the hips, lowering the chest to the ground, while keeping the bottom of the right neck. Exhaling is straightening the body to return to the initial position and complete a repetition. Extension of the spine A type of exercise that is done in a Roman chair is a type of hyperextension of the lower part of the back that is done to strengthen the lower part of it, especially the thorns of the erector. The chair keeps the person in place, lying in a prone position, while folding in the waist and then extending the body up. The exercise is characterized by the two straight angles that form the body, one on the hips and the other on the knees. The person enters the "silla", with the pad that holds the front of the upper thighs and blocks the lower part of the leg (usually at the height of the ankle or heel), leaning forward to the height of the waist. As you lean forward, the upper body will come closer to the ground. When you have leaned to where you are comfortable, use the muscles at the bottom of the back to straighten the body, extending the upper part of it up. Many people at this point extend to the point of hyperextension and curve their backs beyond the typical righteousness. You should be very careful during this exercise, as the lower part of the back can be easily injured. Spine Flexion The Roman chair is also used for exercises for the abdomen. The exerciser lies in a supine position with the hips supported on the back (weight on the upper gluteum) while leaning back and rising with the abdominal rectum while stabilizing the pelvis with the flexors of the hip. If the pelvis moves during exercise, then the hip flexors will also be the main dynamic thrusters. Knee Extension A more commonly known exercise as "wall sit", an isometric movement to develop strength in quadriceps, can also be called "Roman chair"[2]. It implies that a person with the back against the wall, pushes towards it using the action of the extension of the knee. Although it's called "feeling," the hips don't hold when they sit on something. Rather, the body is supported by a weight combination supported on the feet and friction created with the wall by exerting pressure against it. Another exercise called "squat Roman" requires the dynamic use of quadriceps. Similarly, it imitates a sitting movement without really sitting on something, and can be done on a device similar to the spinal exercises mentioned above. This is similar to a "fair seal."
